THE RECYCLED / UPCYCLED OP SHOP PROJECT
Within the shop: use of fabrics, e.g. scarves, T-shirt ‘Bags’ for wrapping
Refresh items usually considered unusable by traditional op shops e.g. mending hems, sewing buttons etc.
Create items from otherwise wasted goods e.g. mixed fabrics into hand braided rugs.
Management, team leaders for groups, training for retail
WHAT IS RUOSP?
RUOSP is rethinking how to use the waste generated from op shops, to prevent it going to landfill.
In landfill it is lost to the economy, is wasteful of earth resources and does harm by creating greenhouse gases which are creating climate change and cost the op shop in dumping fees.
Over 12 months we will work to create a micro business as our social enterprise all profits will support accomodating the homeless.
WHY VOLUNTEER WITH RUOSP?
At TVW we care about your experience just as much as we are driven by our cause.
There’s also no better way to impact a person’s life than by supporting them to get a roof over their head and a chance to contribute to their community.
We invite you to express your interest to volunteer on our project and make a real difference in Wallan and Kilmore and in the lives of others.
